I’m getting close and I can smell it. It’s going to be five years since I came to Romania for the first time.

What is our childhood if not that storage room where we can find all the things we already forgot we had ever stored. Then we grow up to see ourselves in a journey of memories and reconnections.

My Februaries since 2016 have been sort of my new start in a new year. Ever since I came to Romania, this month has been the one putting a stamp to a warmhearted-imaginary-sent-to-myself postcard from an emotional and very realistic trip.

“What the hell am I doing here running this race? Now I understand the people that tell me that they don’t know what’s the purpose of running. I can still go home and not do this to myself”, was I thinking.

On a day like today, exactly four years ago I left Peru. As I try to think of a word to describe my experience, the first one to pop in my head is: gratitude.
